    We are currently recruiting for Bank staff across all Abbeyfield The Dales sites, and in numerous roles:

    Joining our team as a member of Bank staff allows you to be flexible with your working hours, giving you the option to choose how much or how little you work, and when.

    Bank staff have no contracted hours, and will be called upon to cover annual leave, sickness and other busy periods within the business. Bank staff are paid at the same excellent rates of pay as permanent members of staff, and accrue annual leave per hours worked.

  • Community Support Carers

    Location: Based in Ilkley, but with travel to cover the surrounding area and sites.
    Hours: 18.5 hours per week
    Salary: £9.00 per hour (plus mileage)

    Abbeyfield The Dales is a Charity which specialises in working with older people.  We are looking to recruit Community Support Carers who will work in the Ilkley, Burley and Menston community but will be based at Grove House in the centre of Ilkley.

    The role is to deliver high quality care and support to older people living in the community who need a hand with all elements of their personal care to include washing, bathing, dressing and assisting them in all aspects of daily living as required.

    You should have experience of working with older people and must have a patient and caring disposition.  You will have the ability to communicate and interact well with people, be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of service users and organise your own workload when working in the community.

    A clean driving licence and your own car is essential for this role to use for flexible working across sites and in the community.  A mileage allowance will be paid.

    Location: Woodlands, Skipton
    Hours: 14 hours per week (2 days)
    Salary: £10.07 per hour

    We are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our small, friendly team at Abbeyfield The Dales Woodlands in Skipton.

    This is a part-time position, working 2 days (14 hours) per week, on a rota basis as follows:

    Week One: Wednesday & Thursday 8.00am – 3.00pm

    Week Two: Saturday & Sunday 8.00am – 3.00pm

    We are looking for a Chef who can work as a part of a team, as well as independently. Who believes in our values; is caring, honest, open and respectful, and who will put the needs and food requirements of our residents at the centre of everything that they do.

    Your main duty will be to prepare and cook a lunch time three course meal, with meat, fish and vegetarian options. Additional duties will include helping with Summer and Christmas fayres, other events and birthday parties.  You should also have the ability to converse with our residents and to offer alternatives if there is nothing on the menu that they want (within reason.)

    Flexibility and a willingness to help cover the kitchen when the other Chef is sick or on annual leave is vital. There are also opportunities to provide cover at any of our other sites, to help ensure seamless continuity of the delivery of good, healthy food to residents.

    You should be available to attend all necessary training, and ensure that all staff are kept up to date with any current information also.

    The role is to organise and deliver activities, events and outings for our residents.  You will be responsible for planning and implementing a varied programme of activities and entertainment to enhance the lives of our residents.

    You should have experience of working with older people and must have a patient and caring disposition.  You must also be computer literate in basic Word, Excel and Outlook.

Our resident’s well being is at the centre of everything we do.

    Working on a 4 week rota the shifts will be as follows:

    Week 1: Mon 7.00am to 2.00pm, Tues 7.00am to 7.00pm, Wed 7.00am to 2.00pm

    Week 2: Fri, Sat and Sun 7.00am to 2.00pm

    Week 3: Mon 7.00am to 2.00pm, Wed 7.00am to 2.00pm, Fri 12.00pm to 7.00pm,        Sat 7.00am to 2.00pm

    Week 4: Fri 7.00am to 2.00pm, Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm

    Opportunities are available to pick up extra shifts across all Abbeyfield The Dales sites should you wish to pick up extra hours (covering annual leave, sickness and busy periods, as shifts become available) though extra hours can not be guaranteed.

    You will also have the option to remain with us as a Bank member of staff at the end of the maternity cover contract, should you wish to continue providing cover at any of our Abbeyfield The Dales sites.

    Working as part of a team, you will participate in the delivery of care to the residents to ensure that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met and ensuring dignity, choice, independence and respect.

    To be able to communicate and interact well with people is essential for this role, as is an understanding and empathy for the needs of older people.

    NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care would be desirable but is not essential.

    We would like to recruit a Senior Care Assistant to join us on a Maternity Cover Contract at Abbeyfield The Dales, Grove House, Ilkley. The role is 36 hours per week, (3 days) on a rota basis to cover some weekends.

    The shifts are as follows:

    Week 1: Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 6.45am to 7.15pm

    Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 6.45am to 7.15pm

    As a Senior Care Assistant you will supervise and participate in the delivery of care to the residents, taking the lead on the responsibility of residents individual care documentation, following a person centred approach. In this role, you will provide effective leadership for care staff.

    Working closely and effectively as a team, you will ensure that residents physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met and ensuring dignity, choice, independence and respect.

    To be able to communicate and interact well with people is essential for this role, as is an understanding and empathy for the needs of older people.

    Minimum of 3 years experience and NVQ Level 3 is essential.
